A few nights ago, a police officer in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, was summoned to come pick-up an aggressive dog. The officer was met with a 12-week-old puppy. On Friday, the Friends of Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control shared the story with Facebook followers:

Among the calls that surely must make a police officer uneasy: a summons in the middle of the night to go pick up an “aggressive” dog whose owners wanted it gone immediately.

Showing a photo of the “frightening creature” who prompted the late-night call.

The post continues:

Because the pup was surrendered to a police officer in the middle of the night rather than to an Animal Care & Control officer, we don’t have further details about why the owners claimed the dog was “aggressive,” a term usually reserved for dangerous behavior.

According to the people who met the pup, she is a typical “goofy” and affectionate puppy – not a terror. Life begins anew for this little one – she went to a foster home and has already been adopted in a “foster fail” situation. Enjoy your new life sweet pup!

  1. I am VERY happy that this precious little treasure was saved and rehomed!!!

It’s absolutely disgusting and heartbreaking how many people label their pets as “aggressive”…,…. & it’s a “death sentence” for many dogs (I have personally witnessed a large breed dog, labeled as “aggressive” by his owner who surrendered him, led directly from the intake desk to the euthanasia room)……. It was very sad, because no one bothered to evaluate this dog to see if he really was aggressive.

I am very happy that this precious little treasure is rehomed into a family who will treat him as a beloved family member!!!
