A massive search for the child and the dog was launched which included the New York State Police and the Allegany County Drone Team as well as forest rangers and local firefighters.

New York State Police and the Allegany County Drone Team joined the search for the missing 3-year-old and family dog.
While the search had been underway for nearly two hours, a neighbor driving along Hawks Road spotted the child and the dog together in a field at the edge of the road. Emergency personnel were dispatched, and the toddler was medically checked at the scene.
Both the child and the dog were confirmed unharmed and were reunited with their family.
