Berks County, PA – A dog named Charlie was home alone Wednesday morning when the house he was in caught fire. As reported by 6ABC News, video captured the dramatic moment when Charlie pushed through a window and made a desperate jump to save his own life.
The video shows Charlie leaping from a second-floor window while people stand below him with their arms outstretched. When he is on the ground, Charlie rolls to extinguish his smoldering fur.
According to the news agency, Charlie was trapped upstairs by a dog gate, but his family had left a window cracked and he was able to push through and make the life-saving leap.
Aside from scorched fur, Charlie is expected to be okay. His family’s home was destroyed by the blaze.
