A senior dog named Sam was recently seized from an “awful” situation where she had lived a life of neglect. The 10-year-old Labrador retriever mix was always kept outside, and she was never provided with veterinary care.
The Houston Save Lives Is Our Mission Facebook page writes:
On April 6,2022 she was picked up as a part of a cruelty case. Her vet notes: fleas, hookworms, mild debris on both ears, terrible dentition with worn incisors & fractured canines, alopecia, benign skin masses, heartworm positive, limping front leg refused to put weight on it. She was started on anti-inflammatory medication. If this doesn’t fix her limp, she will need better x-rays, not available at the shelter.
Adding:
SAM was neglected. Now she is at an extremely crowded shelter.
SENIORS DO NOT BELONG IN A SHELTER! Look at how happy she was when our volunteer Angela stopped by! She longs for human affection.
Sam has never had the life that she deserves. She has never known comfort and love…and here she is, in the twilight of her life, at a busy animal shelter where her future is not guaranteed. Please share Sam’s adoption information and help her find a loving owner.
