Neglected old pup found wandering alone looked more like forgotten little lamb that had somehow survived

His new name is Pizza Roll, and thanks to Hounds In Pounds, Inc. a tiny, old pup found wandering alone on a Georgia country road and brought to the shelter as a stray, is safe.

Imagine how he looked when first spotted; his white coat had been stained brown with dirt, debris and utter neglect. His little mouth was covered in filth.

And as is so common with neglected senior dogs, his teeth were in horrific condition. According to his rescuers, he looked less like a dog and more like a forgotten little lamb that had somehow survived alone for far too long.

When the message came in from the shelter about him, there was just no way he was going to be left there, and so they agreed to rescue him immediately.

He is safe and finally getting all of the urgent medical care he desperately needed. They named him Pizza Roll.

He was clearly someone’s dog once. You can feel it.

Somewhere along the way, he became lost… untethered… discarded… or maybe something terrible happened to him that we will never fully know.

Pizza Roll is no longer alone.
