Two days after Christmas 2025, three-year-old Taylor Sniff arrived at the Carson Animal Care Center as a stray. She shook uncontrollably for days as she waited in a kennel cage for her person to claim her. No one came, but Taylor Sniff didn’t stop shaking.
She was found near 500 E. 222nd Street in Carson, California.

A few days later it was time to evaluate her, and Taylor Sniff exited the kennel on her own and led the way to the yard area by strongly pulling on her leash. She paid no attention to the other dogs in their kennels.
Once she arrived in the play yard, she greeted the dogs and exhibited a neutral body posture. And then it was time for her to explore this new, strange place. Along the way, she did stop to sniff other dogs nearby.
Every once in a while Taylor would seek some petting from her handlers. For the rest of her playtime, she minded her own business, didn’t engage in play with other dogs and returned to her kennel without any issues.

According to the staff and volunteers, Taylor Sniff could benefit from socialization with calm dogs and help her find her comfort level. She is fine for public adoption, and if there are other dogs in the home, the best for her would be another dog with a low energy level.
On Sunday’s volunteer day at the Carson Animal Care Shelter, a heartbreaking video has been circulating around social media. The explanation:

… passed by Taylor Sniff’s kennel and noticed all of this blood everywhere and immediately went for help. Only to find out that this is referred to as ‘Happy tail’where a dog wags its tail excessively and it hits against the wall over and over. Happy tail is happening to Taylor Sniff, a result of being overly stressed at the shelter. Some dogs shut down, other become crazy, or aggressive, and in Taylor’s case… happy tail! Taylor Sniff deserves better. The kennel staff and vet can’t do anything about her tail because even if they bandage it up, she will continue to bang it against the wall. Self harm. A huge cry for help.
And here is the video:
She has received her final notice which means she only has 72 hours before she is euthanized. Taylor deserves better. Can you help her?
Please share her plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
