Neglected old soul with saddest eyes never lived indoors with bed of her own until now

Just recently, humane agents at the Humane Society of Richland County in Mansfield, Ohio had been notified by a Good Samaritan about a very neglected dog from an area residence. The dog had been living outside with an extremely painful skin condition. She was also emaciated.

The senior was discovered in rough shape and inexplicably smelled of gasoline. Her owners told the agents they could not afford to take her to the vet; the dog named Navy(Bean) was little more than skin and bones.

That same afternoon, Navy received a medical examination followed by a medicated bath; she didn’t love it, but it helped her skin issues feel better. No doubt she also smelled better.

Her blood work was all within normal limits, but the veterinarians do not want to spay her or remove the mammary mass at this time because her weight was too low. She is estimated to be about 14 years of age. There is a strong suspicion of cancer, but the goal is “to make an old gal comfortable for the time she has left” situation.

Following her bath, she created her own little blanket fort and took a power nap.

Sweet girl has the saddest eyes.

Within a week, emaciated Navy has had two more medicated baths, and her coat is beginning to look much better. Unfortunately, her weight has not improved

Navy is calm, most deaf and would do great in a quiet and calm home. Foster hospice means that all of her medical care in exchange for a soft and loving place to live is covered. No one knows how long Navy will be with us, but she sure is one sweet aged gal.

On Sunday, a kind friend volunteered to foster Navy. It had been a family affair when Navy left with her new family which included a very majestic frosty-faced Great Dane named Sir Henry.

And here she is – just one day later.

Navy wasted no time getting settled into her new home. Chillaxin. We’re pretty sure she never lived inside an actual home. With a bed.

Looks great on you, g.f. You DESERVE this.

Her new bestie, the frosty faced Henry, is close by.
