Ethan’s deadline at the City of San Bernardino Animal Services is Tuesday, November 28. He is listed as an owner surrender, but when brought to the shelter, Ethan’s owner was not able to leash him or help staff get him of the crate that transported the one-and-a-half-year-old dog to the shelter.
#A560689 It remains a mystery if Ethan’s owner barely knew the dog or if he had completely neglected Ethan and had little to no interaction with him.
Of course, being catchpoled and dragged out of the vehicle by shelter staff was a very unwelcoming and negative experience.
And of course being bundled into a concrete cell compounded that negativity…

We can all hope that an experienced dog trainer or handler will give Ethan a chance. He is listed as a male, black and tan German shepherd who has been available since November 11, 2023; his time is just about up.
