What dog parent wouldn’t want to hug their 20-year-old dog? Meet Ivy, a senior pooch who was able to defy the odds of old age. His family, however surrendered him to the Carson Animal Care Center on Wednesday because they could no longer afford to care for him.

No one wants Ivy to spend his last days alone in the shelter. Check out his video:

#A1634335 My name is IVY and I’m an approximately 20 year old male Terrier. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 10/16. I will be available on 10/16. You can visit me at my temporary home at C405. My former family who owned me for had to give me up because they couldn’t afford the care I need.
