Tiny forgotten dog lay alone in dirt near school parking lot until someone with a heart cared

On Memorial Day, while families gathered together and flags lined sidewalks and streets in honor of the sacrifice and service of our brave men and women fighting for our freedoms, a tiny forgotten dog lay in the dirt next to a school parking lot in the the Texas heat.

She was found underneath a sign; she was too tired to move and her abdomen was swollen with untreated mammary tumors. One of the masses had ruptured and had become infected. There was no doubt this defenseless little dog had been severely neglected. This had not happened overnight.

And despite how her humans had deprived her of care and compassion, she still looked up – with hope in her eyes, when someone approached. She already trusted, she hoped and maybe someone would help her feel better?

But tonight…

someone stopped.

Someone cared.

And now all of us get the chance to fight for her together.

Please keep Betsy Ross in your prayers tonight.

Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform stepped forward to help. The kindness she needs so much ahs finally arrived. And tonight she has a name – Betsy Ross.

Right now, Betsy is being rushed to the emergency ER in critical condition. It is not known what her prognosis will be, and it is thought she had been suffering silently for a very long time. She deserves every chance and the best of care.

No dog should have to lay alone in pain waiting for someone to care whether they live or die.

Updates to follow.

And if you can help with her emergency medical care, donations are urgently needed:

Sometimes rescue starts with one person saying:

“That dog matters.”

Tonight… Betsy Ross mattered.
