On Monday, June 22, 2026 a very rude and indignant man was spotted by a Good Samaritan carrying two geese in a trash bag. Their legs had been tied together, and both were very frightened.

When the concerned bystander confronted the man and offered to take the geese, the man became aggressive, nasty and threatened the woman. In the next instant he threw garbage cans at her vehicle.

Fearing for her safety and the safety of the geese, the woman called police. The man told the officers he was taking the geese to the nearby lake, but the fence would have made that impossible. The officers told the man to untie them.
Ultimately the man surrendered the geese to the kind woman who transferred the animals to the Los Angeles Animal Rescue for safety and medical care.

Just to clear up any confusion…the geese are HERE at our rescue. They are settling in, eating well and more mobile today. They are isolated from the other geese and ducks until we’re sure they are strong and healthy.
Domestic geese are not protected under federal wildlife laws but usually fall under livestock and animal cruelty investigations.
