In the city of Compton, located in the southern Los Angeles area, a mother dog and her four young puppies had been unceremoniously abandoned in a pile of trash. There had been no food nor water, and the puppies hid under pieces of thrown away doors and scrap plywood while the mom would try and find some food for herself and her puppies.

She did everything she could to protect them, and at times when the temperatures fell to a chilling point, the puppies and their mother would all cuddle together to stay warm. During the day, the puppies often hid under the trash. They were all full of fleas and endlessly scratched until their delicate pink skin would bleed.
Here they are: (Viewers must have a Facebook account to view Facebook Watch videos. We apologize for the inconvenience)
Area residents had spotted the puppies and didn’t know what to do to help. Neither the mother dog nor her puppies would approach anyone; they were too frightened. And fortunately a concerned citizen reached out for help from independent rescuer Suzette Hall. Another rescue partner, Yamy Nuñez and her friend Karla arrived to help with the rescue.
The women waited for hours for the mother to come out of one of her many hiding places.
Suzette was on the way, and she was going to make sure the entire family were safe. She was grateful for the help from her partners.

I did not want them to end up in the wrong hands
And I am so thankful to @alldogsLA for getting over there to protect them until help could arrive
Fortunately, rescuers were able to trap the entire family. They are cuddled together tonight with my dear friend Kim Lavigne.
Rescued!
On Tuesday, they were going to be vetted, bathed and groomed. They were no longer trash – now they would be treasures. And now their mama can sleep and not have to protect her little babies ever again.

Updates to follow. Donations are needed. Perhaps the mother dog is pregnant again, but the puppies are full of roundworms and parasites.
