At the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, a severely matted, miniature poodle’s photo has gone viral. For most viewers, it’s difficult to even make out if this is a living being, much less a dog whose owners should be banned for life for ever allowing this kind of neglect to occur.
According to shelter notes, (#A580426) this is a five-year-old female mixed breed dog. She arrived at the shelter on June 7, after she had been found as a stray in Rialto. She can only be placed with an approved rescue organization because of her medical needs.

Today, her mandatory lost dog hold expires, and she is ready for a new life. Dear, dear – she so deserves better than this.
