Fire rescuers bring pup stranded on top of pillar underneath bridge to safety

The Dallas Fire-Rescue team were the heroes to a frightened, stray dog spotted perched on a narrow, high pillar underneath a bridge on Topeka Avenue. When animal control officers arrived, they were very concerned for the dog’s safety, but knew immediately her rescue required specialized equipment and expertise.

It had been on May 23, when the Dallas Fire-Rescue had been called to the scene.

While the dog did not appear to be in distress, the location was extremely difficult to access. Using a ladder truck and plenty of teamwork, Dallas Fire-Rescue safely brought the sweet pup down to safety. Thankfully, she was not injured.

The dog was later named Trinity.

We would all like to send a huge shoutout to the amazing responders who made this rescue possible.

Trinity is now safe at Dallas Animal Services and will be available for adoption on 5/27! You can still submit an adoption application now at bedallas90.org.

This dog is currently at Dallas Animal Services as of 5/23/26

Animal ID: A1288430
