In Crowley, Louisiana, Kyler’s fate is nearly sealed. This young pup had been abandoned by his family and is currently living in a small rural shelter where his photos and story have been shared endlessly on social media; yet no one wants the friendly two-year-old Catahoula hound mix
And from the other side of the shelter, Kyler senses the staff speaking about him being euthanized after the weekend. This poor pup doesn’t need to imagine; euthanasia has become his reality.
Kyler will be first on euthanasia list. This adorable face needs a place ASAP. His life depends on it. Kyler is two years old and at 70lbs. a large, bouncy ball of fun and delightfulness. He’s a real people dog. He will happily go on hikes with you, ride shotgun, run around the yard with being chased or catching a ball. He is sweet and a very loyal dog who will love you completely. He is playful, silly and a quick student, already knows “sit.”

So devastating that this poor pup was abandoned and failed by his “family,” and now the shelter is going to fail him… We need to work towards a world where euthanasia is only permitted due to the animal’s quality of life suffering. We need to make all shelters no-kill shelters regardless of “overcrowding.” There are always ways to make room and save sweet souls like this young pup who wasn’t fully allowed the chance. I pray for him and animals like him that they get the opportunity to see other day and have a loving family that will never give up on them!
