A heartbroken German shepherd was returned to a California high-kill animal shelter on Tuesday; just days after he was adopted.

As explained by the San Bernardino City Shelter, the 11-month-old dog, named Milo,

“… was returned for attacking another dog (required medical attention). They did note that he was good with kids and adults and was also house broken. Since they only had him for a few days, my guess is that they had no clue how to properly introduce a new dog into the household. This dog should have been given some time to decompress.”

MILO ID #A522215
Available March 22
Milo is a Male GSD

  1. Caution should always be used when introducing a new dog to the “pack”. For all we know it was the other dog that started the fight. I know we had to keep our Beagle away from our 95lb German Shepherd because she took after him when we brought her home. We kept them apart and eventually they learned to tolerate each other. Whoever adopted Milo didn’t give him a chance. You never just bring the dog into the house and expect them to all just “love” each other, sometimes it takes time and this poor dog now pays the price for a ignorant owner!
