Senior Boxer with most soulful eyes abandoned at door of veterinarian clinic

In Long Beach, California, 11-year-old Champ was abandoned in the parking lot of the Golden State Humane Society thinking it was a shelter, and not the low cost vet clinic. He is a senior Boxer whose soulful eyes and scars all over his body tells his heartbreaking story of abandonment and neglect. His collar seems too tight around his neck… how long had he been wearing it?

Champ does have a microchip, however the shelter has not been able to reach his owners.

At this time, Champ is just happy to be interacting with the staff and volunteers. Sadly, his medical concerns and age place him at high risk to be humanely euthanized once his mandatory stray hold has expired.

And now Champ is at the Long Beach Animal Care Center in Long Beach, California. He’s underweight and frail, but with the proper care and love, his life can change.

A shelter volunteer hopes help is on the way:

Champ doesn’t deserve to spend his golden years abandoned and alone. He is sweet and eager to connect despite the neglect he’s endured. With limited time left, this senior boy urgently needs a loving home or a rescue to step up. Don’t let his story end in heartbreak—share, donate, foster, or adopt today! Together, we can give Champ the happy ending he deserves.”
