After owner passed family dropped brokenhearted senior pup at city shelter saying it was safe place

Tucker has just arrived at the Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue located in St. Petersburg, Florida. His owner had recently passed away, and the senior pooch was heartbroken.

After the death of his owner, Tucker had stayed at the home all alone; a kind neighbor had been feeding him, and Tucker was slated to be taken to the local shelter because the family didn’t want him. For some unknown reason, they had rationalized that the shelter was a safe place and of course, someone would come rushing in to adopt a senior dog with health issues.

The family had gathered up a bag of his food, leash and collar and left it in front of Tucker’s cage. Confused and alone, Tucker awaited his fate.

The neighbor, who loved the little dog and had known Tucker’s owner, reached out to the rescue organization to help the dog get out of the shelter.

Tucker is the sweetest little soul. how could anyone not want to love him? He ofcourse needs all his vet care and all the remaining teeth he has need to be removed because they are completely rotten. Dr.C said his mouth is horrific and painful. People don’t realize the cost small rescues get smashed with when owner surrenders hand over dogs with literally zero vet care.

Tucker didn’t deserve to be dumped at a city shelter where most are overcrowded, and where most dogs that are seniors and need specialized care are placed on the euthanasia list.

Please consider helping Tucker and the other recent arrivals.
