On Monday afternoon, a freezing dog was discovered lying next to a dumpster. A Good Samaritan had been taking out the trash when she spotted the dog and contacted Stray Rescue of St. Louis. The woman called her brother who helped to transport the dog.

Temperatures were expected to rise to 40 degrees during the afternoon, but had been single digits in the night, and no doubt the dog had been outdoors for hours.

When he arrived at the shelter’s emergency veterinarian hospital care unit, no body temperature registered on the thermometer. His emaciated body was too cold, although he remained responsive to touch and to voices.
The immediate task was to warm him up with as many heating sources as possible.

He also shows signs of dehydration and frostbite; his ear tips are purple – possibly indications of damage from the extended cold exposure.
He has been named Creme Brulee, and his prognosis is not known.
He may not make it, but we are posting his story so you can pray for this boy and send him strength! …He probably only had a few hours left in him, at the most.
Poor sweet angel. You can do this, buddy, we are all here for you, and we love you.
In his latest update this afternoon, veterinarians assured everyone, Creme Brulee is warming up.
We got a read!
His temperature is pulling up at 90.2°F.A normal temperature for a dog is around 101°F…
No doubt, we all are impatient to see Creme Brulee recover, but doctors and nurses are with him watching him every step of the way.
