At the Coachella Valley Animal Shelter, a two-year-old handsome little Pomeranian mix arrived at the shelter as a “stray dog” on September 1, 2023. The 11-pound, friendly pup, dubbed Dom the Pom, was not microchipped, and surprise, surprise, his family never came to the shelter to save him.
It is unknown what happened to the dog, however he is not able to use his back right leg. The shelter veterinarian thinks it might have been an old, untreated injury which would make a repair to his leg much more complicated.
he has muscle atrophy of right gluteal muscles noted so when did this injury occur? Can his leg be saved? Per the shelter, further diagnostics are needed for diagnosis and prognosis.

There have not been radiographs done, however Dom the Pom will need medical pledges to help an approved rescue organization afford an orthopedic examination and likely surgery.
Dom is described as friendly and easy to handle.
