Shelter dog too terrified to leave his kennel hasn’t made a single friend and is breaking our hearts

At the Pasco County Animal Services in Land O’Lakes, Florida, volunteer Gina Marie met a young shepherd and Labrador retriever mix at the shelter this week. The obviously very depressed dog, who has been huddled into a corner of his kennel cage, has just been too frightened to move whenever he sees anyone approaching him.

A volunteer tells his story, or at least what we know about the dog named Tow Truck:

…Today I met Tow Truck, a young shepherd Lab mix who lives at our shelter since 8-25. Turns out he’s too terrified to move. To leave his kennel. He hasn’t made a single friend, and his sadness is literally a tangible thing.

Tow Truck has resisted all handling, so it is unclear about his age or even how he feels about anything or anyone at the shelter.

a citizen brought him to our shelter as a lost dog, and the above picture (his intake picture) tells the story that this IS a social and sweet dog.

It appears as if Tow Truck has completely shut down, and he is now considered to be “urgent.”

i’m praying there is a happying ending at the end of this for him. Rescue friends, is there anyone that can help?
