Heartbreaking situation as bonded pair of beautiful shepherds beg to be freed from shelter

A pair of bonded, young shepherds have broken the hearts of staff and volunteers alike as they plead with their eyes and expressions to be freed from the noisy and overcrowded City of San Bernardino Animal Services. Both dogs arrived at the shelter as strays on November 28, 2023 and are now available for adoption.

Both dogs weigh about 60 pounds each, and it is possible they could be related. Both dogs are female; on is black and the other is red.

A volunteer who met the dogs stated:

“Can anyone adopt or any shepherd rescues pull this sweet soul? Saw her when at the shelter SBC but couldn’t take her. She was very shy, quiet and timid. All the dogs were barking, but her. She quietly cried and went to hide in the back. It was heartbreaking. Her days are numbered. I know this is a long shot, but was in Kennel#71, the smaller of the two shepherds. Her feet and in between the little foot pads were red and burnt from walking in urine.”
