Legacy is a two-year-old pit bull who weighs in around 65 pounds. According to the Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary, located in Miami County, south of Kansas City, it’s hard to believe no one, not one single person or family has wanted to meet this gorgeous, sweet and very intelligent little lady. And so, we present Legacy to the endless world of social media where sharing her story, her video and her photos can make the difference this sweet pup needs.
Statistically, Legacy has been the rescue’s longest resident in boarding, totaling 223 days, 5,352 hours and 321,120 minutes.
“Legacy is the biggest snuggle bug and loves being with her person. She needs to be an only pet and can be reactive to other animals. Legacy right now is our longest resident in boarding and deserves to have a home.”

Some people view Legacy as an unfortunate dog sitting in a shelter, but that’s not true at all. Legacy is an angel; her eyes show only love and kindness despite her past. Everyday is a new day for Legacy, and everyday is an opportunity she will find her new family. Legacy has been with the rescue organization since March 2021, but no one has even expressed an interest in adopting or fostering her. Yes, Legacy has special needs, but just because she doesn’t like other dogs should not prevent her from finding her new home – lots of homes are out there ready for a special “one dog” family.
