A fragile husky puppy should have been with her mother. She needed to be kept warm, loved and protected. Instead she had been abandoned.

Earlier this week, the puppy was brought to ACCT Philly by an individual who reportedly found her crying in a trash can. Rescuers named the three-week-old puppy Miracle, and she was immediately rushed to BluePearl Animal Hospital for specialized veterinary care.
It was truly heartbreaking to see how Miracle had been suffering. She wore a small, dirty collar. Someone had cared enough about her once, but somehow for reasons unknown, she ended up alone in a trash bin all alone and in pain.

The puppy had sustained severe head trauma. She had been bleeding from her nose, and to make our hearts break even more, no one knew how long she had been injured, in pain and crying out for help.

After receiving emergency treatment at BluePearl, Miracle had been stabilized enough to be transferred to Philadelphia SPCA where she is now receiving around-the-clock treatment which includes pain management medication, intravenous fluids, oxygen support and constant monitoring by the medical staff. Sadly, even though she sleeps, she softly whimpers.

After receiving urgent treatment, Miracle was stabilized enough to return to the shelter hospital, where she is now receiving around-the-clock care, including pain medication, IV fluids, oxygen support, and constant monitoring by our dedicated medical team. But even as she sleeps, she softly whimpers.
We can’t begin to imagine what Miracle has endured.

In the coming days, we will conduct further diagnostics to better understand the extent of Miracle’s injuries and what comes next for her healing.
Right now, our focus is simple: keeping her comfortable, keeping her safe, and showing her that people can still be kind.

Today on $5 Friday, please consider making a donation to support Miracle and so many other animals.
UPDATE:
Breaking: Based on further investigation, the Pennsylvania SPCA’s Animal Law Enforcement team located Miracle’s littermates.

All of the puppies are safe and have been surrendered to the PSPCA.

They will undergo forensic evaluations from our veterinary team.

From there, if deemed healthy, they will go into foster care until they are old enough to find forever homes.

Miracle’s condition remains guarded.
