In Sanibel, Florida, CROW – Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, the Cape Coral Police Department and VEG ER for Pets, were instrumental in the rescue of a coyote pup (patient 26-1946) after the pup had been struck by a vehicle earlier this week.

Upon her initial examination and radiographs, attending veterinarians and staff found her to have a fractured leg and signs of head trauma. The pup, estimated to be only seven-weeks of age, should still have been with her mother and not fighting to survive from such heartbreaking injuries.

Every moment mattered for this precious patient. The staff has been doing everything medically possible to keep her comfortable, stabilize her injuries, and give her the chance at recovery she deserves.

In her update on Wednesday, May 13, the pup continues her stay at the hospital, and her condition has stabilized. Dr. Jessica Comolli, the medical director, stated the patient has been making daily improvements related to her head injuries. Surgical repair for her front leg fracture is under consideration.
The organization is incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared this coyote’s story, and offered words of support during her recovery journey.

Your donation will directly support her ongoing treatments, medications, specialized nutrition, diagnostics, and intensive rehabilitation care. Most importantly, it gives this little girl hope for a second chance at life in the wild where she belongs.
Please consider making a gift today and sending healing thoughts her way as she continues to fight.
