In Hillsborough County, a stray little dog seen on a surveillance video camera being kicked and thrown by a woman died during surgery Tuesday.
According to the video released by the Sheriff’s Office, Imania Davis, 33, of Tampa, was seen carrying a small dog by the scruff of his neck and throwing him about 22 feet where he landed on the asphalt road. As the frightened dog tentatively walked back to the woman with its tail between his legs, the woman was seen kicking it and throwing it again.

The one-year-old dog, described as having been a Maltese stray, was immediately taken to an emergency veterinarian where he was diagnosed with a broken front leg and bleeding from his nose.
On Wednesday, the announcement that the dog died during surgery was made by the Pet Resource Center.

According to Fox 13, Sheriff Chad Chronister the young dog had too much to overcome:
He wasn’t going to have any mobility. If they wouldn’t have went in for one more surgery, he would have needed more surgeries. But he would never have had any quality of life. He wouldn’t be able to walk, so amputation was the only answer. I hate that he wasn’t strong enough to be able to survive the surgery.
Investigators now say they are working with the state attorney’s office to determine whether additional charges will be filed following the dog’s death.

Rest in peace little one.
