In Hillsborough County, the Sheriff’s Office released a video that they say allegedly showed a woman abusing a small white dog.
Imania Davis, 33, of Tampa, has been arrested and is facing six counts of aggravated animal cruelty. Videoed on a surveillance camera, Davis was seen carrying a small dog by the scruff of his neck and then throwing him 22 feet onto the asphalt road. As the frightened dog tentatively walked back to the woman with his tail between his legs, the woman was seen kicking it.

On April 30, 2026, around 8:20 p.m., Real Time Crime Center cameras observed Davis throwing a dog not once, but twice, forcefully causing it to hit the asphalt. The video also showed Davis kicking the dog.
As her reign of terror against the defenseless little dog continued, she was seen hitting it repeatedly over the head and then tossing it again. When a deputy arrived, he found the trembling dog on the asphalt road. The dog, described as having been a Maltese stray, was immediately taken to an emergency veterinarian where he was diagnosed with a broken front leg and bleeding from his nose.

It had only been by chance that an HCSO staff member had been monitoring the cameras and witnessed the crime as it happened.

The saddest part – the animal cruelty took place outdoors on a beautiful afternoon at a local trailer park with many people outdoors who surely witnessed the heartbreaking cruelty, and NO ONE CALLED for help.

The puppy is at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center, where he is still recovering.
