It had to have been a heartless person who would lock a dog in a cage and dump him near old Hickory Dam in Nashville last week just before a storm moved in.

When the photo of the caged dog began circulating on social media, rescuers wasted no time ready to help. No one knew how long the dog had been left alone. No food, no water and no shelter – how cold and desperate she must had been.
Metro-Nashville Animal Care and Control shared the rescue photos and posted on their Facebook page. Everyone was deeply moved how sweet she was – she just wanted to be loved.

She was taken out of the cage where she was safe and warm. And she was given a name Tweety.

These are the moments that stay with us in animal care.
The ones where the unknown feels heavy, and you’re left filling in the blanks.
Tweety was brought in thanks to our Animal Control officers and is one of those cases that leaves you wondering about the life she lived before she got here.
But what she’s chosen to show us is what matters most. Tweety has shown amazing resilience. She is sweet, soft and loves everyone without hesitation. As described by the staff, Tweety is all sunshine, all heart and proof that even after the awful situation she had been forced to endure, tomorrow can be a new day and a new life ahead.
Could your day use a little ray of sunshine?

Come meet this sweetheart today… You won’t regret it!
