Dog’s body wiggles not just her tail as humans are Agnes’ favorite thing in the world but not today

Spread the love

At the Fulton County Animal Center, Indiana, Agnes just hasn’t been herself lately, and it’s breaking the hearts of staff and volunteers alike. The dog who used to light up for attention has been so quiet, and no longer wants to eat.

She’s less excited about visitors, and she is beginning to shut down in the shelter. And that is what makes this sweetheart’s story so difficult:

Because Agnes LOVES people.

Not just a little…

she leans into you like you’re her whole world

She’ll climb into your lap

Rest her head on you

Give soft, gentle kisses

Agnes just wants her person. The perfect home would be where Agnes is the one and only; she doesn’t want toys, but she wants her person and to feel safe and loved.

This is how the shelter describes her:

“I’m 5.5 years old, 66 pounds, and I absolutely ADORE people! When I see you, my whole body wiggles. Not just my tail. My entire body! I can’t help it. Humans are my favorite thing in the world. I walk great on a leash. I’m house trained. I sit like a good girl and might even offer you a sweet little shake. I’ve outgrown that wild puppy stage, so there’s no potty training or chaos here. I already know how to live in a home. I have the cutest little underbite that gives me a permanent smile and it fits my personality perfectly.”

It is not known how she is with children, but it is expected her to do just fine with respectful youngsters.

Some dogs want a pack, but Agnes wants a person.

Years ago, Agnes arrived at FCAC as a stray. She quickly became a staff favorite thanks to her sweet personality and charming little ways. She was soon adopted into what everyone had hoped would be her forever home.

Until it wasn’t….

Through no fault of her own, Agnes was later found as a stray again and taken to another shelter in pretty rough shape. She had a skin infection and most of her fur was missing. Luckily, the shelter was able to identify Agnes through her microchip and contacted FCAC. Since coming back, she has been treated for her skin infection, started on food that works best for her, and her health improved. Her fur is growing back, and her happy tail is wagging again.

Agnes just cannot adjust to shelter life.

Now she’s just looking for her final safe landing.

Please help Agnes to shine again.

Agnes is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready for a loving home.
