Four tiny puppies abandoned on dirt road discovered eating fallen papaya to survive

Four tiny puppies, estimated to be between five and six weeks of age, were discovered on Thursday, June 4, on a remote dirt road. They weighed only 2 to 3 pounds each and had been initially spotted lying in the roadway asleep. Their mother was no where to be found.

According to their initial rescuers, the puppies had been surviving eating a fallen papaya. Fortunately, dogs can eat the fruit that is rich in vitamins (A, C, E) and fiber, and contains an enzyme which supports the digestive system, however they should only be given the fruit in moderation.

Check out the video where they can be seen eating the fruit they found nearby. It was likely one of the few food sources they could find.

Dallas Dog-Rescue.Rehab.Reform has stepped up to help. They will be arriving in Dallas on Saturday, but fosters are needed.

When they should have been nursing, playing, and sleeping beside their mom, they were abandoned on a remote road with no family, no shelter, and no one coming back for them.

Some were curled up asleep on the asphalt.

Others were scavenging for survival, eating fallen papaya because it was the only food they could find.

Thankfully, these little ones are now safe.

Despite everything, they are sweet, eating well on their own, and acting like normal puppies.
