In St. Petersburg, Florida, a blind, 13-year-old dog had been surrendered to the county shelter because he was no longer wanted. He had become an “inconvenience” to his owners.
One can only imagine the fear, the confusion and the heartbreak this little dog must have felt. What could he have possibly done that was so terrible his owners betrayed him like this?
Another heartbeat labeled as an ‘inconvenience’ is safe. I’ve heard every excuse in the book to justify one’s actions from god, not matching the furniture, allergic all of a sudden, divorce, dog acts like their parents, bla, bla, bla.
On Monday, Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue stepped in to help. The loud noises, the strangers and a lonely little kennel cage is no place for a blind senior who had just been betrayed and lost everything he had ever known.
How much of an inconvenience could this little one have been to motivate his previous owners to dump him at a shelter. Since his release from the shelter, he’s been bathed, taken outdoors for his bathroom needs, eaten dinner and wrapped in warm blankets straight from the dryer.
He slept soundly and no doubt was grateful for the kindness. And sadly, this little dog’s rescue needs are not unique. Thousands of “inconvenienced” heartbeats have already been saved.
He was immediately given veterinarian care and is in immediate dental care.
