Two years – in the shelter! Moon Pie’s once happy face has been turning into a frown. This sweet dog deserves a loving home; he’s been at the Lifeline’s Community Animal Center too long.
Over the weekend, one of the volunteers arrived to cheer Moon Pie up and take him out for a walk and some much needed mental stimulation.

I think he knows that no one is coming for him. He greeted me and then went back to bed. Would you have any hope if you sat in a kennel for almost two years. His calls for help have gone ignored.
This is how Moon Pie used to be. His advocates described him as the perfect blend of sweetness and charm. He was polite, playful and would be the ideal companion. His loveable personality would shine through, and how could he get any better – he’s crate trained, house trained and had an endless tail wag with those “joyful paws.”

Who needs a Hiking Buddy? This pup loves to be active, and he’s at his happiest when he’s walking along the wooded trails taking in the view and enjoying the fresh air. He’s not known to complain, and he’ll keep you from spending too much time on the couch.

Here is Moon Pie’s link to inquire about him below, but the preferred method is to go visit him directly at the shelter. Moon Pie is in foster care, and interested adopters must call ahead to meet him.

Moonpie is always welcome to come to Washington state and join our pack of senior rescues. If anyone is coming out west, please consider transporting him part way perhaps we can figure out a “puppy express”…… it would be nice to know if he’s cat friendly and horse friendly.
