Phoenix is in the care of GEorgia’s Releash Atlanta, but she hasn’t had any adoption applications. Now we ask that everyone share this girl’s story so she can find the home of her dreams.
When she arrived at the rescue in July, the eight-month-old puppy’s body told the story of unimaginable suffering. Her face and her body were raw, inflamed and bloody from an awful case of mange. Every inch of her skin was swollen, painful and itchy. In addition, her undernourished body was riddled with hookworms. Her white blood cell count and liver enzymes were high, and her hematocrit (red blood cells) were so low, she received a blood transfusion to save her life.

This isn’t just neglect. It’s cruelty. And still, despite the pain, Phoenix leans into your touch with a soft, pleading look — like she’s asking if she’s finally safe.
Phoenix was lucky; she was rescued and her life was finally surrounded with love, safety and the best of care.

And now from the ashes of a terribly rough start, Phoenix has blossomed into one of the sweetest, most beautiful young dog. Now weighing around 50 pounds, she’s the perfect mix of cuddly and playful!

This is what her caretakers have to say about Phoenix:
• Loves every dog she meets – total social butterfly!
• Big fan of people, too – she’s never met a stranger.
• Crate trained and potty trained – such a good girl!
• Always ready for adventure but just as happy to curl up for snuggles.
Phoenix has overcome so much with grace and a gentle heart, and now she’s ready for her forever family; one that will give her all the love she deserves.
