Meet Darla; she has been at Devore Animal Shelter since November 13, and it breaks our hearts that she’s still waiting to be adopted.
So here we go again – asking readers to share Darla’s story and help her find a loving home.
For more than a month, this young, sweet Labrador retriever blend, with the most beautiful blue eyes, has been waiting in a noisy crowded kennel, and no one has chosen her. Every time someone passes by her kennel, Darla runs to the front eagerly smiling and wagging her tail; it’s just heartbreaking to watch the people pass by without acknowledging her and seeing the disappointment on Darla’s face.

According to kennel notes, she has shared a kennel with another dog. In fact, she loved when the volunteers dressed her up for Christmas. She shouldn’t have to be waiting for someone to choose her.
A volunteer wrote:

Can you imagine being young, trusting and ready to love, and yet having your life hanging by a thread in a shelter? That’s Darla’s reality right now.
Because she has been at the overcrowded shelter for more than a month, and even though she is adorable, well behaved and healthy, she could be euthanized at any time. Please share her story with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

Here she is:
