A ten-month-old puppy, dubbed Mozey, arrived at the Fort Worth Animal Care & Control – Silcox Animal Campus in Texas this week barely able to walk without a severe limp. Mozey was clearly in pain. He wore no collar and had no microchip.

What happened to have caused the puppy’s injury is unclear; perhaps he had been hit by a vehicle crossing the road or been a victim of cruel treatment?

Due to overcrowding and lack of funding, city shelters are not always able to provide special needs pets entering the shelter with expensive veterinarian care. The shelter staff had taken radiographs of Mozey’s back and spine and were waiting for a veterinarian to read the results. Still, the puppy needed immediate rescue.
This was the shelter’s information:

Animal advocates reached out to rescue organizations for help, and Mozey’s photos and heartbreaking story circulated on social media.
Trina & Friends K-9 Rescue stepped up, and began to actively work on getting the puppy transported to Family Pet Care in Texas to be examined and treated by their rescue’s companion veterinarian. This afternoon, the puppy was hospitalized with pneumonia; Mozey is fighting hard and needs help. Every share and every donation truly matters and helps continue her care.

Thank you for reading about Mozey. Puppies like her should be outdoors playing in the yard with children or their owners. They should not have been abandoned and left to struggle to live another day.
