UPDATE: Dumped blind pup walked into traffic but fate stepped in as her heroes provide comfort and love

Just two days ago on Greenspot Road in Highland, California, local resident, Jeff had been walking his dog when he spotted her; a matted mess of a small black dog with large bald patches on the sides of her body and hind quarters. She had wandered out into traffic; vehicles were honking their horns and swerving to avoid hitting her.

At that moment, Jeff knew he had to intervene and help. He carefully navigated around the traffic while gently pushing the stray dog back to the safety of the sidewalk. But then she walked into a fence; no doubt this poor dog was blind.

She must have been a recent “dump” because no dog in the terrible shape she had been when found, would have survived the day on her own.

She wore an old collar but had no identification or a microchip.

Jeff carried her a mile back to his home and promised her life would get better.

It was animal advocate and rescuer Faith Easdale, who answered the call. The dog was immediately brought to the rescue organization’s partner animal hospital for life saving care.

She was immediately given a name and an identity; meet Poochini. Her eyes were painfully ulcerated and infected, she was infested with fleas and ticks, both ears were infected; and one can only imagine the pain and misery this poor pup had been feeling.

But now there’s hope. Today, she remains at the hospital, but already life has improved. According to Faith, Poochini is feeling better, although there remains a profound sadness to her soul. She has been receiving medicated baths, her eyes have been cleaned, and she is scheduled to be examined by an ophthalmologist. The infections in her ears are being treated, and medications have been administered to ease any pain or discomfort.

Miss Dapple is recovering from Parvo virus. Her prognosis continues to improve. Without everyone’s help, miracles like this would never happen. Many thanks to Faith Easdale and her amazing team; they truly do care.
