Sweetest dog ever begs to be saved from being put to sleep at shelter

Dahlia is past her deadline for euthanasia at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, and it’s evident she knows it. Desperate to live and have a home of her own, Dahlia clutches onto the leg of a staff member as if begging for her life to be spared. Sadly, she has had no interest, no one comes to visit her, and she lives day to day and hour to hour.

Let’s begin her story with Dahlia’s adoption listing:

DAHLIA – ID#A564407

My name is Dahlia and I am an unaltered female, white and brown Pit Bull Terrier mix. Shelter staff think I am about 5 years old. I have been at the shelter since Apr 21, 2024.

Here’s what we know about Dahlia. She’s described as a superstar sporting the “sunniest smile. On May 14, she joined a playgroup with volunteers and multiple other dogs. For the entire experience, she was sweet, polite, tolerant of other dogs, social but not at all pushy and displayed “good calm energy.”

When she arrived at the shelter, she was listed as “sick” however she has since been treated for tick infestation and is feeling much better.

Please share her plight – just one share could help her find her forever home, and Dahlia could be living “happily ever after.”

  2. this is so sad! she doesn’t deserve to be put to sleep. what has happened to her is not her fault and seems to be looking like it is punishing her. I am to far away for taking her. why can’t she be the shelter dog I know of many around me that do this. none of the shelter workers can help her? oh poor baby I hope someone will save you girl.

  3. If you could send her me, I would take her
