There are few words to describe the heart wrenching scene when a 12-year-old female, German shepherd was surrendered to the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society on Saturday as an “inconvenient living situation.” The dog had been with her “family” since she was eight-weeks-old; and now she was no longer wanted.

Sadly, the owners were not interested in the helpful aids offered to keep their dog. Help is now immediately needed to get her out of the shelter. She has never been in a shelter and is reported to be terrified. After all, this beautiful dog had only known life in her one home.

It’s such a hard line to walk … pushing for owner retention, and also making sure to kindly accept dogs so that they’re not dumped on the street or given away on Craigslist.
