Friendly shepherd only 6 months old emaciated and covered with ticks at risk of losing her life

At the San Bernardino Animal Services, even this adorable German shepherd puppy, remains at immediate risk of being humanely euthanized. The shelter is overcrowded; the staff and volunteers are doing their best, but the number of incoming surrendered, stray and injured pets has continued to increase exponentially.

My name is Autumn and I am an unaltered female, black and brown German Shepherd Dog. Shelter staff think I am about 6 months old. I have been at the shelter since Aug 09, 2023.

Sadly, the intake department did not have time to pull the ticks off of Autumn’s face when she arrived, and her photo was taken for her adoption listing. Her notes indicate she is severely emaciated, (20 pounds) and dehydrated. She has tested negative to Parvo virus, but has tested positive to Giardia. She also has roundworms.

As to her assessment, the shelter reports the following:
