Four tiny siblings and their mom were abandoned in the fields of Palmdale. Apparently, the family had been dumped by the side of the road, and for the next few days, the loyal dogs sat in the same spot where they had been left and dutifully waited for their owner to return.

And so it was time on Saturday night, for a group of devoted rescuers, to come to the aid of these innocent victims of cruelty. Cathi Perez arrived first.

They stayed there for days waiting for their owners to come back until they were run off by people chasing them. It took hours before they came back in the middle of the night in the freezing cold. I arrived about 9pm, and we had a frustrating and disappointing start as they were no where to be found when we first arrived, they had been chased by people trying to grab them and that sent them deeper into the fields hiding.

Cathi Perez,

A number of good intentioned people, wanting to help had arrived at the area where the dogs had been waiting on a small red cushion. The dogs became even more frightened and ran away again. One woman left big bowls of food, and eventually captured the mother dog and left. That presented a set back, and made the rescue of the four remaining puppies even more difficult. All night the puppies wandered and cried, looking for their mother. And even though there had been a planned, professional rescue, the mother dog had been handed off to an unknown person.

The remaining four were spotted deep in the brush, and it took hours of silent waiting for them to timidly come back to the original spot. Hours later, two of the puppies were caught near their red cushion, and then it was another four hours until all were finally trapped and safe.

They were left by the red cushion and it was so sad they sat right there waiting for the owner to come back. They ran up to my car to see if I was their person. When they saw I was not, they ran away.

The rescue effort took all night, but Faith Easdale, Mike Ryan and Cathi finally succeeded. Many thanks to Wagmor Pets and Melissa Bacelar for giving the go ahead to get them all and for standing by until dawn until all were safely captured and ready to be helped.

And we want to send out a special thank you to Faith who has the experience and devotion for such difficult work.

The dogs have wounds and injuries, need vetting and the rescue will be posting a full update.

Please support this wonderful rescue, they are all so sweet and innocent, donations may be sent
