At the Michiana Humane Society in Michigan City, Indiana, 13-year-old Jane has been returned to the shelter. To say this senior is beyond stressed, is the heartbreaking description of how this mostly blind pup is feeling.

We wish we could give her a home environment but at the end of the day, all we can offer her is a kennel. Her adoption fee has been sponsored so all we need is someone willing to foster or adopt her. What Jane needs more than anything is to be out of the kennel environment.

So here we are once again, asking readers of Pet Rescue Report to share Jane’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts. She needs a family who will cuddle with her at night and help to make memories during the day. The shelter staff assure us that one would have no idea Jane is a senior pooch; she’s spry, loves car rides and loves to go for walks.

She is one of the snuggiest, most cuddle-able, lovable sweethearts.

Jane is described as quite confident for being mostly blind and older. She doesn’t act as if she is 13-years-old and is very interactive. She loves when someone talks to her and holds her face in their hands. She greets people with a smile and kisses. She loves to chew on her smoked, big antler bone. She isn’t a bother, is independent and although she occasionally bumps into things because of her limited sight, she just shakes it off and continues with her day.

She has a big happy contagious smile, and she also just loves to be in the same room with people. Her smile is the best though! Jane has shown positive interactions with friendly dogs; we would need to do a meet and greet to see the interaction. Otherwise, she has been perfectly content being an independent lady!

If you are not able to adopt Jane, would you consider fostering her so she can live in a home environment while waiting to find her family? Come meet her at Michiana Humane Society.
