An adorable Yorkshire terrier had been left with a veterinarian to be euthanized because he was no longer wanted by his family. A Londonderry, Northern Ireland rescue organization, Friends of Rescue stepped up immediately after receiving a message from the vet.

According to the rescue organization’s Facebook page, little Theo is currently being fostered; his family describes him as being very active, however with a few good walks and time to play, he settles down for a good night’s rest.

Theo loves his walks and is happy meeting other dogs. He is sociable but when uncomfortable meeting strangers, he will bark.

He interacts with everyone but is becoming attached to me. He finds it extremely hard to settle when I leave in the morning. He wouldn’t be able to sleep in a room on his own at night, or be left alone in the house I don’t think. He sleeps on the bed beside me. Which I think is a comfort thing 🐶

The little one is almost house trained, and loves to play; his favorite toy is a Kong. He could live happily with another dog, but that pup would have to be active also.

Theo medically has been signed off. He has been neutered, and his trachea x-rayed, as he was showing signs of a candidate for trachea issues but at the moment all is well and no treatment is necessary. He will need to be monitored throughout his life as it is very common in the Yorkie breed.
