Milo the dog loves to drive around the neighborhoods with his family to gaze at the Christmas lights. The Labrador retriever’s owners, Kayla and Ben from Long Island, showed us their dog’s utter delight as he became “mesmerized” at the holiday display at the Jones Beach Light Show on an adorable TikTok video.

Perhaps our pets become extra special at this time of year? All over social media, we see posts from pet lovers telling us they would rather be at home with their dogs than go out and spend time at the taverns or parties. Some pet owners have no human families. We all know that special dog or cat (or whatever animal you have chosen to love), can help fill that emptiness that so often accompanies holidays.
And don’t forget those presents for our furry friends. Statistics show that more than 34% of Americans will be purchasing a gift for their dog as compared to only 19% who will be buying presents for their in-laws. About 22% of cat owners will be buying presents for their favorite felines. Now, picking it apart a bit more – Chewy’s poll consisting of pet owners surveyed, showed 94% stated they were buying presents for their pets, however only 58% of those polled admitted to wrapping presents for their pets.
Many thanks to @kaylaadieppaa on TikTok for sharing Milo’s joy. He made me smile.
