Down and out senior attacked and impaled by fence recovering well and needs our help finding a home

Meet Dolce; this 10-year-old senior has a story to tell inspiring hope; now he needs help finding a loving home. Dolce is currently at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. According to staff notes, he had been picked up by animal control officers from a field where he had likely been attacked and then accidentally impaled himself on a fence.

Dolce was given emergency veterinary care by the staff at the shelter and has been doing very well. His kennel notes include the following information:

7/29/22-“DOLCE”- AN OLDER BOY, WHO APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN ALWAYS NEGLECTED.

HE WAS FOUND IN A FIELD AND BROUGHT INTO THE SHELTER. IT IS BELIEVED HE WAS ATTACKED BY SOMEONE.

HE IS DOING MUCH BETTER NOW, HAS RECEIVED MEDICAL TREATMENT IN THE SHELTER.

HE IS DESCRIBED BY STAFF AS A “GENTLEMAN”, “VERY CALM AND LOVING, WELL-MANNERED AND FULLY HOUSEBROKEN.”

HE NEEDS A GREAT HOME TO LIVE OUT THE MANY YEARS HE HAS LEFT.PLEASE SAVE HIM.

  1. Poor old man. He’s like my big girl Ellen, he grew but he kept the little puppy ears. My Ellen weighs 80 pounds and has teeny ears. I hope someone gives him a chance
