In Fort Worth, Texas, someone surely must be missing this “stunning” dog. Because the mandatory hold time has been stretched to two weeks because of a citywide distemper epidemic, Dexter (50546744) can’t leave the Chuck Silcox Animal Care and Control yet, but he will need an approved rescue organization. New dogs entering the shelter are being vaccinated and are required to wait until they can be administered the booster on July 12, 2022.

The six-year-old long-haired German shepherd/collie mix is not altered, weighs 60 pounds and is being treated for kennel cough. He is heartworm negative.

Volunteers have stated Dexter has done well in the dog groups – indicating he is dog friendly, but anyone interested in fostering or adopting would need to verify all information with:

Fort Worth Animal Care and Control/Chuck Silcox Adoption Center located at 4900 Martin Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76119
