UPDATE: RESCUED

A handsome two-year-old German shepherd no longer gets up from the rear of his cage at the Riverside County Animal Shelter when anyone passes by checking out the dogs available for adoption. Arlo has been at the shelter for two months, and all of the rescue organizations who went in and out of the shelter last week, just walked by him. And so, it seems as if Arlo doesn’t care if he lives or dies anymore.

STATUS YELLOW: Fearful/unsocial.

Those marked status yellow are animals that can no longer be kept in the shelter given their current medical or behavior condition. Those in the yellow category may become red or may be euthanized based on their ongoing condition.

ID: #A1662978

I am a male, 67.40 lbs, brown and black German Shepherd Dog. I am estimated to be about 2 years and 1 month old. I have been at the shelter since 03/08/2022.

Additional notes from shelter volunteers:

“GERMAN SHEPHERD SITTING ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR ALL THE WAY IN THE CORNER TRYING TO GET IN THE WALL, AN ESCAPE REALITY MAY BE HE CAN JUST BLEND INN AND BECOME INVISIBLE. HE IS SO SCARED.!!!HE DOESN’T KNOW WHERE HE IS HE ONLY KNOWS THAT THIS PLACE SMELLS LIKE DEATH. NO BAD NOTES NO MEDICAL FEARFUL AVAILABLE.

THIS BOY IS SO DEPRESSED. I SAW A VIDEO. HE JUST SITS IN THE BACK WHEN STAFFERS CALL HIM.HE NEEDS AN IMMEDIATE FOSTER, ADOPTER, OR RESCUE. HE IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD. HE NEEDS SOME TRAINING BECAUSE HE IS SO FEARFUL. WE ARE RAISING MONEY FOR TRAINING. WE STARTED A PLEDGE PM ON FACEBOOK. IF YOU WANT TO BE ON THE PM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.”

He’s absolutely adorable and a baby. I hope someone local can open up their heart and home for this precious treasure. He deserves to be part of a loving furever family who will treat him as a beloved family member for his entire life.
