In Tunica, Mississippi, patience is wearing thin. For months, the number of pets being abandoned has been on the rise, and animal shelters have been overwhelmed.
Sunday at the Tunica Humane Society was no different. This time, a puppy was found tied to the stairwell at an apartment complex in Robinsonville. He was left there on Saturday and cried all night. Finally, someone cared enough about the innocent little victim of neglect, they called the rescue organization. He had been tied to the post with two shoe strings.
“People are pushing us to the limit right now. I feel like I am getting the ‘nice’ sucked right out of me. It’s been extremely hard to deal with all of this the last few months. I find myself with little patience because so many people are abandoning their pets. We are completely overwhelmed at our shelter and it seems, very few people want to be part of the solution.”

The puppy has been named Stringbean.
