At the Carson Animal Care Center, a 13-year-old German shepherd was surrendered on Sunday because her family no longer could afford to care for her. They named her Princess, but surely she doesn’t feel like royalty.
Sadly, Princess arrived at the shelter with sores on her backside; the infection was so severe maggots were present. The medical staff at the shelter quickly cleaned her wounds, and then a volunteer groomer gave Princess the royal spa treatment to help her feel better.
Given a soft bed to rest upon, Princess hopes someone will come for her and give her the retirement she so deserves. Check out her video:
