Nobody came to shelter cat's birthday party

An animal shelter recently promoted a birthday party on behalf of a longtime shelter resident who needed a home. According to Metro UK, despite the hype, nobody showed up to the homeless cat’s special event.

Two-year-old kitty, named Monique, has been at the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for over 120 days, but few people have expressed in meeting her because she is Feline Immunodeficieny Virus (FIV) positive. Though the virus has little impact on Monique, it does mean that her new family would have to ensure that she is kept away from other cats to avoid spreading the disease.

Monique is described as “sweet and snuggly,” and she enjoys having her chin scratched. The shelter hopes that she will find a wonderful home soon because she is a sweet and loving cat. Learn more about adopting this deserving cat by visiting the shelter’s website here.

  1. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?! PLEASE FIND THIS DARLING SWEETHEART A LOVING HOME!

SUPER COMPLIMENTS TO THE SHELTER FOR THROWING HER
A PARTY! MORE SHOULD FOLLOW THIS EXAMPLE!

  2. Poor furbaby. I would have gone to her party and brought her some special treats. I can’t adopt her as she would have to be an only pet…… but she looks like a sweetheart!!!

    • FIV positive cats can safely live long healthy lives with FIV negative cats! If the shelter is telling potential owners that she’ll infect other cats, they are extremely misinformed and hurting her chances for a loving family 🙁

  3. Awww this is so sad. Poor sweet baby, i would have came and gave you a wonderful home if i lived closer!
Poor baby, sending lots and lots of love to this beautiful kitty!

  4. Took forever and a few clicks to figure out where in the world she is. Maybe posting the shelter address would help her chances.
