A young puppy, purchased from a dog breeder in Ohio, died while on a flight to his new family in Los Angeles, California. As reported by the New York Daily News, on Thursday night the Yorkshire puppy, named Sebastian, was found dead in his crate by his owner after the Delta Airlines jet landed at Los Angeles International.
Cory Mcjimson and his family went to the Delta cargo area to retrieve their new pup, but found him inside of his crate, not breathing. According to TMZ, Delta personnel rushed the puppy to a veterinarian, but he could not be saved.
In a statement to TMZ, the airline issued condolences to the family, writing:
“Pets are an important member of the family and we are focused on the well-being of all animals we transport.
We extend our deepest condolences to Sebastian’s family and are conducting a thorough review of the situation to understand what happened.”
